Aftercare

With many dental procedures, the maintenance and home care afterward can be just as important as the procedure itself when it comes to continued oral health and success in reaching the goals the original service set out to accomplish. Our dentist, Dr. Farhad Sharifi, and our team provide post-care instructions for many of the procedures performed at North Coast Dental Excellence. If you have any questions, please give our dental team in Oceanside, California, a call today at 760-941-1414 to learn more about your post-op experience.

Night Guards Post-Op Care

It is important to comply with our instructions on wearing your night guard every night and, if desired, at times during the day. This will ensure that your bite force is evenly distributed and will create a barrier between the teeth and ease the conditions that bring about sore jaw muscles while also preventing damage to the teeth from undue pressure.

Remember to clean your night guard every night when you brush and floss your teeth. Brush the inside and outside of the guard carefully, then rinse and place the guard back into your mouth. Once a month, you should use a dental soak cleanser, such as Polident®, to keep the guard fresh and sanitary.

If you experience an increased amount of pain after using a night guard, please give our team a call today to see about adjusting your device.
